Tracy Gentles

CREATIVE DIRECTOR / CEO, SOMETHING TO AIM FOR
CONSORTIUM PARTNER, FREELANCE : FUTURES

Tracy Gentles is the founding Creative Director / CEO of Something To Aim For (STAF), a charity set up to build on the work of previous organisations In Company Collective and The Sick of the Fringe, STAF’s continuing arts, health and social change programme.

Having worked within the creative industries for the past 20 years, she has developed a practice that explores the performing arts interface with academia, health, social justice, and more recently, technology.

As a working class, woman of colour, who grew up in East Manchester, matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion can be found at the heart of her work, driven by lived experience.

She has a history of championing critical voices from the fringes of the arts, and society in general, supporting their infiltration into mainstream conversations, increasing impact, deepening engagement, and creating entry points for the audiences and participants of today, and those of the future.

Organisations Tracy has supported include: Wellcome Collection, The Place, Dance Umbrella, HighRise Theatre, Selina Thompson Ltd, Faggamuffin Bloc Party, Clod Ensemble, Sadler’s Wells, Queen Mary University of London, University of Salford, and Edinburgh Fringe Society.

Tracy is currently on the Board of Trustees at Raze Collective, and an Artist Fellow at Queen Mary University of London.
