Nurull Islam

 

CREATIVE PRACTITIONER

Nurull Islam is a creative practitioner working on projects with the underserved and minorities within the community. His project’s has a strong focus on heritage, legacies and narratives from diverse communities.  

 Alongside Nurull’s freelance work he is an associate artist at Phakama and the Co Founder of Mile End Community Project where he has designed and delivered award-winning projects covering a range of topics that are important to the community.  

Various establishments have acknowledged Nurull’s work in the community, more recently by Queen Mary University of London by awarding him with an Artist research fellowship.  

Nurull is very passionate about his work that is driven by the engagements in the community and his own lived experiences. He has a great relationship with the communities in Tower Hamlets and has helped create that platform to allow them to tell their own stories on subject matter that are important to them using creative means.
